In 2020, I packed all my belongings and moved from rural South Dakota to Detroit, Michigan for work. Back then, I was completely unaware of how my new home would capture my heart. Contrary to many perceptions, it’s a growing hub of culture, innovation, and passion. Over the last four years, I’ve felt seen, known, and loved by the community here.

My experiences have inspired a photo and video series that fulfills two desires. To share what makes this metropolis so special while capturing those who have become so dear to me. Each participant is asked, “What place in the city feels you most?”
